Yangarra 2004 Shiraz — Mmm Mmm Good

The days of greige and drizzle have descended upon Vancouver for another nine months. It’s depressing, but this tasty Yangarra 2004 Shiraz might make you feel a little better about the weather. This wine smells amazing–strong notes of cherries, with a hint of raspberries. The wine is almost black, with legs like Ditta Von Teese. It has an incredible, dark cherry taste. It’s like drinking a black forest cake. There’s a thought. This would taste really good with rich, dark chocolate. It’s got a long, lingering finish on the palate.

It’s a well-cellared wine, and right now is it’s peak (according to the guy at the wine store who knows these things). Next time you need something and sophisticated for an interesting evening at home in front of the fire, pick up a bottle of this, if you can find it.
